Abstract
EDITORIAL NOTE
This edition of the Library and Information Management Forum features sixteen (16) high quality and
peer reviewed articles with contemporary articles in line with global trends as well as specialized content
areas in the field of Library and Information Science. Statistically, 2(13%) of the article focuses on Artificial
Intelligence, 4(26%) of the papers focused on Information and Communication Technology, 1(7%) focused
on Open Educational Resources, 4(26%) of the papers focused on Libraries and Librarians, 1(7%) of the
articles focused on Record retention, 1(7%) of the papers focused on Metadata, 1(7%) focused on Drug
abuse, while 1(7%) of the papers focused on Climate Change Misinformation.
The lead paper by Whong, investigated the Challenges and Opportunities of Implementing Artificial
Intelligence and Machine Learning in Nigerian Libraries. Urhiewhu and Idiodi also Investigated Information
and Communication Technologies Utilization for Resource Management in Academic and Special Libraries.
Similarly, Iheagwam and Edom discussed the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in Academic
Libraries in Nigeria, its Benefits and Challenges.
On the other hand, Bakrin, examined the Role of Library Personnel in the Creation, Advocacy and
Discoverability of Open Educational Resources in Nigerian Universities. Likewise, Hashim, Maji, Ayodele,
and Isah, investigated the Use of Web-based Information Services for Academic Activities by
Undergraduate Students of Department of Mass Communication, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Yakubu and Olaogun, investigated Empowering Information Service Delivery: The Roles of Women
Librarians in Promoting Academic Library Development in Taraba State, Nigeria. While Gambo, explored
Influence of the Use of Records Retention Schedule in Shari’a Courts for Dispensation of Justice in Kaduna
State. Ozor, Gbishe, and Suleiman, focused on Determining Who is a Librarian: Skills, Competencies for
the 21st Century Librarian.
Yusuf, focused on the Utilization of Metadata Standard for Description and Facilitation of Access to
Legal Information Resources in the Networked Digital Environment. Similarly, Idiodi, Izevbigie and
Omoregie, examined Library Innovation, Financial Accountability in Library, and academic performance of
Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.
Mohammed, Gambo and Unobe discussed Strategies for Enhancing Visibility and Accessibility of
Scholarly Contents in Academic Digital Repositories. Also, Jimoh, Ibikunle and Garba focused on
Information on Drug Abuse among Science Education Students of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria: The Role
of librarians. While, Mohammed, Umar and Maifata, investigated the Preservation and Utilization of Digital
Information Resources in Selected Federal University Libraries in the North West, Nigeria. Nzewi &
Agboola investigated the Relationship between Work Condition and Institutions Commitment by Librarians
in Academic Libraries
All the articles contained in this edition were peer reviewed by experts in various content areas of
Library and Information profession before the acceptance for inclusion.
