Abstract
The success of organizations in current business environment era depends to a large extent on their
information technology power base which they incorporate in their daily processes Recent studies
indicated that facility operations data are maintained separately from design and construction data
BIM, is a concept which creates a physical representation of physical and functional characteristics
of a building in an electronic model BIM plays a very important role in the I'M practices such as
space planning, asset management etc as it is becoming a better known established collaboration
process in the construction industry. As affirmed by researchers, the ideal situation for the facility
management industry to fully adopt the BIM. thus, this research investigates the extent of integration
of BIM in I'M services and procedures Data for the studs were gathered through review of related
literature for secondary data and questionnaire administration as primary data, to assess the extent of
integration of BIM in Abuja F'M practice Research findings indicated that most respondent a staff
have "fair" knowledge of BIM Recommendations include, calling for the effective utilization of BIM
technology in FM services and procedures while funis should also imbibe the culture of training staffs
to acquire the capacity to match these technology The researchers recommend the correlation of
facility management BIM application arears with sources ol data and file formats so as lo boost
interoperability factors
