The invitro effects of extract of different parts (leaves, stem bark and root) of Murraya koenigii were determined on fungi associated with Tomato fruits rot. In the present study, the fungi isolated from infected tomato fruit were identified based on Macroscopic and Microscopic characteristics. These included Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium oxysporum, Mucor spp Rhizoctonia solani and Rhizopus stolonifer. Two different extractive solvents (Water and Methanol) were used. Different concentrations (5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) of both extracts were used in this study. All the plant extracts, both aqueous and methanol showed significant (p<0.05) reduction on mycelia growthof the isolated pathogens when compared with the control. Maximum percentage inhibition was observed with the leaves extract, followed by the stem bark and the Root. Methanol extracts was more effective. Higher concentration of both aqueous and methanol (25%) favoured higher mycelia growth reduction. These Plants are available and the extracts, particularly, M. koenigii offers potentially safe alternative for use as botanical fungicides and could be exploited for the effective management of post-harvestharvest fruits disease of tropical fruits.en_US
