Abstract
A land use classification has been developed for the inventory of land use in a Nigerian forest area, Sabon Gida Ora, using large scale aerial photography. The dot grid method of sampling covering 14% of the area is used in estimating the various land use categories. Bonnor (1975) and Kolbl and Trachsler (1980) formula are used in estimating the error of the land use categories. Estimated land use categories are displayed in a series of computer maps
