Results of Geoelectric measurements within Obi coal deposit show that the host rock which is shale has resistivity ranging from 5 to 14 ohm-m and within the shale exists a sub-section with resistivity from 15 to 30 ohm-m. Correlation with geological data reveals that this section contains the thick coal seams and is of the order of 60m thick generally, Vertical electrical soundings (VES) have marked out the anticlinal structure within the area, and gave indications of three fault zones. Self-potential measurements show one positive and one negative anomalies. While the negative anomaly is interpreted in terms of a fault zone the positive anomaly is attributed to an elevation effect. Gravity measurements show that positive gravity anomalies exist over two fault zones in the area.en_US
