The effectiveness of the Texspun' process in improving the spun-like characteristics of air-jet textured continuous-filament yarns was investigated by studying the effect of the process variables on the size, frequency and stability of the loops formed on the yarn surface and the physical properties of the yam, as well as the process variables of the Texspun process and the properties of Texspun yams. An attempt was also made to analyse the mechanism of loop trapping and breakage, as well as the possible causes of inconsistency in the performance of the Texspun device.en_US
