Abstract
This paper discussed the evidential value of oral archives. The paper emphasised and defined oral archives that are used in the court to judge cases. Oral archives as evidential records are used by the court to judge different cases. These cases include theft, armed robbery, murder fight etc. Importance of oral archive in the court such as proving the occurrence of crime, giving strong belief for the occurrence of the crime, giving details of the time, place and the participant found in the crime etc were discussed. Factors considered by the court before judgment is done using oral archives as evidence, such as originality of the oral archives, sources of oral acquiring archives, wide spread, the creator of the oral archives etc are discussed in the paper. It was concluded that oral archives are used in the court as sources of evidence for judgment making. It was recommended that individual as well as organization should create and keep oral archives because of their evidential value.
