Abstract
Advertising does not just inform, as the simplest definitions would infer.
Its responsibility is more extensive than that. Advertisement must promote, it
must become a personal salesman to millions of individuals who could not
logistically be approached by an actual personal salesman.
There is this general notion that advertising despite its wide scope is
limited to certain phase of life and that was the main reason this project was
carried out in order to prove to people that advertising occurs in all facets of life
including the oil industry. Although, advertising in oil industry may have a
different motive apart from the normal assumption that, as one advertise its
products to millions of people, the tendency to create awareness of their product
is increased and this will lead to attracting more people to buy their products
thus, increasing sale volume, leading to high volume of finance.
Meanwhile, in the oil industry, most of the oil companies advertise so as
to create awareness to the entire world that they are not neglecting their host
communities, but rather they are providing the social amenities to the host
communities, knowing quite right that, they can only operate successfully in a
peaceful environment which will lead to increase in performance, efficiency and
high return on investment
Again, it is also worthy to note that, not all products of the oil industry can
be advertised. Since, they are not visible, but the end products of the raw
products can be advertised.
