Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the Impact of Social Studies Education in Curbing Indiscipline among Junior Secondary Schools in Zaria and Sabon-Gari Local Government Areas, Kaduna State. The study is guided with three research questions, four objectives were set out to achieved and three hypotheses were also formulated to guide the study tested at 0.05 level. Descriptives survey design was adopted using structure questionnaire design by the researcher for 400 group of respondents for collection of informations for data analysis. t-test was the main instrument used for testing the hypotheses. The findings of the study reveals that there is direct relationship between indiscipline and societal norms and that with the effective teaching of social studies education students could be more disciplined and resourceful and social studies education has the power of making students more responsible citizens. Among the recommendations made are the teachers of social studies should be regularly encouraged to attend workshops, seminars and conferences especially, those concerned with issues of responsibilities and indiscipline. The teaching of social studies should be made compulsory in all classes of secondary school in order to curb the rising wave of indiscipline among students.
