The study ascertained the impact of various poverty reduction strategies on women in three local government areas ( Zaria, Kaduna North and Jema'a) in Kaduna slate. Data was obtained through the administration of 600 questionnaires to women with age range of 18- 65 years. The aim of the study was to investigate and ascertain the extent to which these various strategies by the government have raised the consciousness, encourage, stimulate and improve the status of women towards improving their standard of living, their family and their communities. The evaluation was based on data generated on a micro-scale from both primary and secondary sources. The Analytical Technique involves graphical representation of data and the use of Chisquare to test the relationship between two variables .A Chi-square test carried out between level of awareness of poverty alleviation programmes and women participation shows chat awareness is not a yard-stick for women to participate in these programmes. It also revealed there is no association between Level of Education and Women participation. The results show more women participated in the urban areas, women have to belong to an organization to benefit. The patriarchal nature of our society hindered many women from participating. Rural women participated minimally due to their ignorance of what these programmes are all about, and who it was made for. Many women and secondary school leavers benefitted in terms or skills acquisition. It was concluded that there should be fairness in designing poverty alleviations programmes and it must consider women's multiple roles, needs and aspirations.en_US
