Abstract
3- and 4-acetylpyridine adducts of dimethyltindichloride
and diphenyltindichloride are synthesized.
2-Acetylpyridine reacts with dimethyltin- and diphenyltindichlorides
to give not adducts, but some other compounds
yet to he identified. The l4--acetylpyridine adduct of
trimethyltinchloride is also reported.
Dimethyltiribistrifluoroacetate-U-acetylpyridine and
trimethyltin trifluoroacetate-U-acetylpyridine, the f i r st
compounds of t h e i r type, have also been made.
Infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectral
studies of the new compounds have been carried out.
In an effort to examine the possible use of these,
and other, organotin compounds for the control of yam
r o t , t h e i r activity against yam rot fungi has "been studied.
The r e s u l t s show many of the compounds to be active
fungicides.
