Abstract
The project is the study of Manpower Planning and Development
vvitli Peugeot Automobile Nigeria limited as a case study. More
specifically, concerned with the following
i) Determinations of the existing staff levels, staff strength and
staff turnover rate of the organisation.
ii) Examination of Manpower Planning and Development
policies of the organisation which was found to be suitable in
coping with the organisational manpower needs.
iii) Examination of how Manpower are developed in the
organisation. The organisation vigorously pursue its
Manpower Development policies plan despite some
difficulties through the utilization of both its Training Centre,
tertiary institution within the country and the sponsorship of
personnel to attend training programme outside the country.
iv) Analyses of the manpower planning and development of the
organisation which was found to have high rate of staff
turnover rate thereby resulting to an enormous waste of
resources.

And vital suggestions and recommendation such as:
- the improvement of the frequency of training programme
for staff;
- reorganization of the organization's employment
programme using the assistance of a statistician
- and the formulation of manpower planning and
development policies that will contain manpower
forecasting and wastage analysis . These when applied
will prevent any shortage of manpower presently and in
the future.
