Abstract
This research was undertaken to investigate
diurnal and seasonal variation of Medium Wave in Zaria.
The effect of the seasons on signal strength and
consequently of harmattan was examined.
The more common analysis of evaluating several
medians was used. Medians were evaluated for periods
of one hour, one day, one month, one season and for
the whole period of measurement. The hourly medians
were evaluated on a daily and monthly basis.
Some problems common to Medium Wave broadcasting
in Nigeria in particular were enumerated and suggestions
made on how to overcome them.
A comparison was made between theoretical
distributions and the probability distribution of the
received signal. All the results were obtained from
the Computer and put in graph form from which some
conclusions were arrived at.
