| dc.description.abstract | Housing must fulfill six main requirement, it must be in the right place in the right quantity at the right time; dwellings must be of the right size and form and of the right construction; perhaps most importantly they must be available at the right price. Consideration of these requirement is complicated by the fact it is probably impossible to define in any precise manner what is right in any aspect at any time, for it is the overall balance that determines the success or failure of housing policy in national development. The research work began by reviewing the various determinants of housing need and supply. The study examined the sub-groups in LAFIA with particular reference to house type desire by the sub-groups. Present and future house type needed also estimated for the town. Similarly, the housing supply sectors have been identified with their associated problems in their efforts for provision of housing in LAFIA their resource base, and potentials analyzed. Finally a sustainable housing development policy recommended with much emphasis on the formation of cooperative housing societies that will be responsible for housing provision in LAFIA on a sustainable bases. | en_US |
