Abstract
One of the ways in which many principals let teachers do their work efficiently and
effectively is through motivation. Here the principal can induce teachers to work to the best of
their ability.
The confidence of teachers must be won by management and one important factor is the
environment to maintain the needs of teachers: Physiological, safety, social, esteem and need
for self actualization. If the above needs are satisfied or maintained teachers would be dedicated
on their work and they would not go on strike. This will help in raising the standard of
education.
Teachers for effective and efficient teaching need: Prompt payment of salaries, leave
grant besides other allowances, adequate teaching facilities, in service training and
encouragement for hardwork. The government and society should appreciate their work.
Teachers also need job security and adequate supervision from the inspectorate division of the
ministry of education. The ministry should recruit qualified teachers and renovate infrastructural
facilities and complete abandoned projects.
The ministry of education should arrange for workshops, seminars and symposia for
fostering development in various fields.
