A paper presented at the e-Nigeria Conference Held at The International Conference Centre, Abuja Between 17th and 18th November, 2015.en_US
The paper examined the state of electoral systems, management and process in developing countries. This was followed by the causes and consequences of election malpractices in the body polity of liberal democratic settings. It was revealed that government officials and agencies which, include Election Management Body (EMB), political parties, political gladiators and the traditional, community, religious and cultural leaders were the major role players in abetting and perpetuating election malpractices to deny the emergence of legitimate winners and production of masqueraded election results found to be incredible for acceptance. The place of technologies in election management and processes as well as electoral systems and operations were highlighted. The dimensions of cybercrime, cybersecurity and their impact on electoral systems and management in emerging democracies were x-rayed along with the way forward towards achieving global e-electoral systems.en_US
