Abstract
Thirty eight samples of 'kanwa' were analysed for anions, Carbonate, hydrogen carbonate, chloride and sulphate were detected in most samples and phosphate in only one sample. Quantitative anion analysis was carried out on fourteen water-soluble samples. Separation of carbonate, chloride and sulphate on a column packed with Amberlite resin IRA-401 in the phenate form has also been attempted.
