dc.description.abstractABSTRACT FEASIBILITY OF CORRESPONDENCE EDUCATION IN HOME ECONOMICS FOR FEMALE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN NIGER STATE, NIGERIA This study was carried out to explore the feasibility of teaching home economics education courses through a correspondence system to female primary school teachers in Niger State, Nigeria. A guided response questionnaire which consisted of twenty-four items including demographic types of questions, opinions regarding recognition and importance of general home economics education, home economics correspondence study, communication media and course organization was administered. Sixty female primary school teachers from Minna, the headquarters of Niger State, and Bida, the next largest city in the state, were involved with the study as available representatives of Niger State female primary school teachers. Results of the study showed that respondents expressed a felt need for home economics correspondence study in the state. They felt that home economics should be taught to both boys and girls in primary and secondary schools in Niger State. The overall findings of the study revealed that, in general, the female primary school teachers in Niger Stateen_US
