Abstract
By the historical birth of the Police in Britain and other parts of the world, Police Forces are seen, first and foremost, as friends and allies of the civil populace; as vanguards and respecters of human rights and the values of both the mighty and the lowly. Can we say this much about the Nigeria Police Force? The origin and purpose of the establishment of the Nigeria Police Force and the resultant interactive problem with the public was studied. One of the proposed solutions to correct the ills of the past is the establishment of a scheme or forum to encourage social interaction between the Police and the Public. The design is not intended to be the final answer to the problem, but to serve as a forum upon which trust can be generated
