Abstract
The study is an evaluation of the "Library Use Course" in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Attention was focused on students' knowledge on various areas relating to the use of library and library catalogue by the recipients of the "Use of Library" course. The data gathering methods employed in this study were the interview and questionnaire. The convenience sampling strategy was adopted to select students in two faculties from the eleven that make up Ahmadu Bello University. Data collected was quantified and tabulated. The analysis of responses revealed that the "Library Use Course" affects the usage of the catalogue in the location of materials, knowledge of title, author, subject access; knowledge of bibliographical citation and the use of reference tools in finding information in the library. The responses from the students used for the study further revealed that, given some specified modalities for its introduction and integration into the university curricula, the course "Use of Library" will increase the knowledge of the catalogue as a finding list, the use of reference sources and bibliographical tools in the library. This formed the basis for the conclusions and recommendations of this research which includes the need to make this course credit earning for its viability
