Abstract
ABSTRACT
The importance of human capital and capacity development in any
goal-oriented organization cannot be over emphasized; the realization
of organizational aims and objectives lies significantly on hardworking,
dedicated and efficient personnel.
Therefore, it suffices to say that training and development of
employees is vital to the success of any organization. Identification of
the training needs of employees coupled with the desired action is
capable of enhancing the productivity as well as sustaining the growth
of an organization.
This research study attempts to present training and development as
tools for improving employee’s performance taking a specific look on
the operations of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), which
is the case study.
The methodology employed in collecting the necessary data involved
administering questionnaires to 1,240 (one thousand two hundred and
forty) randomly selected respondents from the staff of NSITF of which
3 (three) top Management staff were judgmentally selected but only 2
(two) responded for the interview conducted. The date has been
analyzed in chapter four and was presented with the aid of tables and
percentages.
