Abstract
This research work is an Analytical literary study of the evolution of Arabic Poetry in the 21st century in Zaria city. The objective of which is to enhance our understanding of development in Arabic Poetry in 21st century, using local national and international Arabic and English reference materials. Chapter one, as an introduction, focuses on the research procedure, method and problems. Chapter two, is the literature review, in Arabic Poetry generally, the aesthetics and characteristic of the Nigerian Arabic poetry in particular, and the extent to which the ulama of Zaria City were able to evolve their own artistic creativity. Chapter three and four focuses on the literary History of the Nigerian Arabic Poetry, it’s cultural, social, political and religious situations. Chapter four illustrates the relationship between ulama and their cultural, social, political, economic and religious influences on their Arts work. Chapter five is devoted to detailed study of the ten ulama poetry in Zaria City, in the 21st Century. This include their biography, artistic and stylistic commentaries as well as textual analysis and criticism of their poetry, from which their artistic talent, evolutions, are revealed.
