| dc.description.abstract | Budgeting is a management tool - a way of managing, not the management. The presence of a budgetary system should not make management complacent. To get the best results of managing, management should use budgeting with intelligence and foresight, along with other managerial techniques. Budgeting assists management it cannot replace management. Management should exercise patience try various techniques and procedure in developing and using the budgeting system ultimately they will achieve the success and reap the benefits of budgeting. The Theme " Management Of Budgets In A.B.U." aims at a thorough analysis of the University's Budgets in relation to the way it was managed in terms of allocations to the spending units of the University. The researcher took into consideration the guidelines stipulated by the National Universities Commission as a base for ascertaining the effectiveness of the University's management in terms of Budget management over a five year period. Effective management of Budgets in an organisation may be regarded as the "blood stream" of any organisation. In fact the results arising from and dependent upon its design not only have a definite effort on the University's success but may even be a decisive factor on the University.
