Abstract
The need to research into the Finance and Financial Control of a Federal Health Institutions. A case study of A.B.U.T.H. Zaria is very obvious to expose the financial prudence of the organization. I have no doubt in my mind that this work would greatly reduce the difficulties the Top Management Consultative Committee have in taken certain crucial financial decisions. Every diligent efforts have been taken with the cooperation of the authorities to put together this work. This topic, been the foundation of every successful management is essential for the Health Sector to be able to excel in its financial administration. Information, facts, and data analysis in this study are derived through oral interviews, review of past literature personal observations and participation as a functionary of the ABUTH, Zaria for the past eight years. Discussion in the text as a whole is centered mainly on the finance and financial controls of the Hospital. The text begins with: - An examination of the subject matter of the study. - Review of the past literature's - Organizational and administrative set up of the Hospital is then analyzed to show the linkages that held all the departments together as an entity towards the attainment of a common goal. It would also be shown that the hospital derives its funds from three principal sources viz: (i) Federal Government Grant (Recurrent/Capital). (ii) Internally generated revenue. (iii) State (Kaduna State) Government Grant.
