Abstract
Every organisation operates within a Macro environment which in a large extent
affects its policy and decision making and to a large extent the satisfaction of
employees on their job.
An organisation has to constantly move to the rhythm of change and react to its
dynamic environment. Otherwise it becomes a "rusted suit of amour" forgotten
among the junk.
The need for this study arose due to the present predicament faced by the Nigerian
workers - strikes, unpaid salaries, retrenchment are all abound in our economic
system.
This study focuses on rationalisation using the company Cotton and Agricultural
Processors, Zaria as a case study.
Irrespective of the fact that Nigeria faces an economic crisis, the Human Element
should be given more consideration and appreciated for their hard work.
The aim of the research is to explore ways to effectively and efficiently manage the
human resources of organisation in an unstable environment.
After a detailed research on the organisation, the conclusion drawn is that the
management has been able to manage its human resources effectively in the unstable
environment in which it finds itself.
It also manages to bring the organisation from the brink of collapse to an enviable
position in the Industrial Sector within which it finds itself.
It realised that the human resources are the key to its survival and growth.
