dc.description.abstractABSTRACT The three basic essentials of life are food, shelter and clothing in their order of priority. The indispensability of food further makes it a very high priority area in the development of any nation. It is "because of the importance of food and the very high priority accorded food industries in the national development plan that the author decided to concentrate this thesis on this area Moreover, the importance of agricultural industrialisation cannot "be over-emphasized especially with the rapid declining situation of the economy of Nigeria, the over-reliance on importation of food items and high rate of unemployment all over the country. However, cocoa "being one of the most important cash crops i.n Nigeria and especially in Oyo State, that is produced in abundant quantities can reliably support a processing factory using cocoa beans as the primary raw material.
