dc.description.abstractThe study compared the position of women in Islam and contemporary campaign for women liberation in north-central geo-political zone. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The population comprises of Muslim men and Muslim women in Benue, Nassarawa and Kwara States.Relevant literatures that relate to the study were reviewed. The instruments used in the study were questionnaire and oral interview. The data collected were statistically analysed. All the six (6) research questions and six (6) hypotheses were subjected to t-test and percentage. The results show that three (3) hypotheses were rejected which shows that there is significant difference in the opinions of the respondents, while the remaining three (3) hypotheses were accepted which shows that there is no significant difference in the opinions of the respondents.Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendation among others is made. Muslim women should search for more knowledge on their religion. This will enable them to understand that the western culture is quite different from Islamic culture.en_US
