Abstract
It is paradoxical that the eye as small as it is relative to the
total body surface area, could actually make l i f e unbearable if it is
malfunctioning.
It is common knowledge that most Nigerians lack basic personal
hygiene; this has promoted the spread of contagius diseases not
l e a s t of them are those related to the eye. And. for those who due
to accident, neglect, poverty, suffer from eye problems, the least
that can be done is to provide a service incorporating the best and
most modern techniques, f a c i l i t i e s , technology and experts to help
remove or reduce the eye problems of this relatively large number of
our population.
Not to talk of academicians who consume a high proportion of
reading glasses and those suffering from such natural eye effects as
"Short sight" or "long sight".
It is the intention of the eye centre to help alleviate the
suffering of this people. In general, the goal of the centre is to
try and deal with any defect of the eye that would reduce the chances
of one enjoying good and proper vision.
