Abstract
This study is based on the availability and utilization of information resources and services of the shari'ah court libraries in the states of Northern Nigeria. The survey research method was adopted for the conduct of the study for which questionnaires, interviews and observation were used to collect data. It was discovered however, that most of the libraries investigated depended on purchase as means of acquiring information resources. This consequently, led to the inadequate provision of relevant information resources which resulted in the provision of ineffective services, expected of a shari'ah court library. On the basis of these findings, several recommendations aimed at improving the availability and utilization of information resources and services in the shari'ah court libraries of the states of Northern Nigeria have been proposed.
