Abstract
ABSTRACT
With the advent of the second tier Foreign Exchange Market bank proliferation has occured with estonishing rapidity. The
need for well planned and conducive environment to perform these more advanced business operations can not be over emphasised. It is against this background that architecture is being used to
provide these spaces that would good work atitude.This thesis will therefore look into the concept of "bank architecture" as a subset of "Corporate Architecture" as well as
examining the impact of space on bank workers. The proposal shall be within the context of the science of perception of space
as well as the general philosophies of office designs. Conclusions will be drawn from these findings. Chapter one shall deal with introducing the thesis, stating its
aims and objectives as well as research methodology Chapter two shall deal with the indepth study of banking and bank
architecture as it is in Nigeria as well as the subject of space in Architecture.
Chapter three shall deal with the philosophies of office designs,
And chapter four is basically case studies.
In chapter five the problems will be formulated and the various site problems will be looked into. Chapter six deals with the brief as well as other functional
requirements. All the concepts adopted will be stated here and finally detail design outlined. Finally chapter seven concludes the thesis write up.
