dc.description.abstractThis study involved testing primary Class I and II children in the Shomolu area of Lagos State with the Test of Process Skills (TOPS), The test scores of these children in PEIP and non-PEIP schools at the same class levels in the North of Nigeria (Brown 1978). Few significant differences in the scores of the children were observed. An analysis of the scores of the children in the individual test item revealed that some items needed modification. The overall results of the study indicated that the TOPS was a reliable instrument which could be used in the Lagos area of Nigeria to measure the children's ability to practice process skills. It was recommended that further testing be carried out using children in the higher classes of the primary school and also that certain items of the test be modified to make it more reliable.en_US
