With the aim of developing construction units from the waste materials from agriculture, a study was made on how suitable Rice husks could be as an aggregate in Building blocks making. As far as possible the properties of Rice husks as an aggregate were found. It has specific gravity of 1.27, water absorption 162 percent by weight and needs W/C of 0.65 to 0.95 to form a semi-dry mortar for block making. Huskscrete blocks got from mixes such as 1:4 cement/Rice husks, 1:1.25 : 3.75 cement/sand/Rice husks were tested for crushing strength, average dry weight, density and water absorption. Their economics was high lighted in the cost analysis of 1M3 of mortar for different mixes of sandcrete and huskscrete blocks. Blocks incorporating Rice husks attained average compressive strength of 1.8N/mm2 to 5.2N/mm2 at 28 days which is comparable to BS.6073 requirement. To make Huskscrete blocks, more effective as construction units, certain measures were suggested. And the blocks are recommended for use in constructing load and non-loadbearing walls in Nigeria especially in areas having Rice husks in abundanceen_US
