dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at investigating bibliographic control of non-print information resources in the National Library of Nigeria. Five research questions were raised with respect to the types of non-print information resources, sources of deposition of non-print information resources, the frequency of deposition of non-print information resources, the efforts of the National Library of Nigeria to achieve bibliographic control of non-print information resources, strategies put in place. The descriptive research method was used for the conduct of this study. The purposive sampling was adopted for this study. A sample of 60 was drawn from the population of 680. The instrument used in this study for data collection was the questionnaire. Data collected by the researcher from this study were analyzed qualitatively and presented in descriptive form using frequency tables and percentages. From the findings of the study, it was concluded that there are 11 types of non-print information resources deposited in the National Library of Nigeria by government agencies, commercial and individuals who produce and publish them though the frequency of deposition was low. However, the National Library of Nigeria had made some efforts to achieving bibliographic control of non-print information resources and some strategies put in place which have been evaluated not effective. The study therefore recommended that adequate funds be sourced through advocacy to stakeholders and national organizations to enable the National Library of Nigeria have adequate funds to effectively perform bibliographic roles and services.en_US
