Abstract
The research focused on the study of mystic symbolism, as a case study. The term mystic symbolism refers to poetic usage of indirect suggestion to express mystical ideas, emotions and the state of mind. The work aims at solving the ambiguity of mystic symbolism in sheikh Ibrahim Abdullahi Kontagora’s anthology;Raudul Qulub, the research comprises five chapters: the first chapter is an introduction which contains the topic of the dissertation, justifications, objectives, significance, limitations, research problems, methodology and literature review, the second is biography of sheik Ibrahim Abdullahi and the brief explanation of what the anthology Raudul Qulub is all about and the presentation as well as study of the content of the anthology, the third chapter studied the poetic sources and his styles. The fourth chapter discussed the theoretical aspect of symbolism, its linguistic and terminological definitions as well as characteristics which distinguished the mystics symbolism from other literary symbolism, and the fifth chapter dealt with the mystics symbolism applied by the poetic in the anthology as their categories were analytically studied. And the research concluded with the summary, the most important results arrived at, as well as suggestion for further studies.
