For quite sometime now, the author has observed that students who left schools after secondary education lingered and roamed about their home villages. Those of them who do not go for further education are often seen praying to go into jobs as might be available usually in the local government offices. Most times it is teaching appointment they take to, a job which most soon find un-suitable but grudgingly hang on to while waiting to jump out of it as soon as a better' job could be secured. Human nature being materially insertiable, man would continue to look out for »better' things in life but hardly a situation exists in life where there is hundred percent satisfaction. The pendulum swings ad-infinitum especially when students lack the knowledge of occupational self-concept and allow their socio-economic background to set the range of occupational horizon for them. However, the author is inspired by his belief that every man's work, whether it be literature, music, pictures, architecture or anything else, should always be a portrait of himself. Work should moan more than just earning a living. Through it the individual should also satisfy his psychological and social needs. Work should determine the individual's social status, values, attitudes and life-styles.en_US
