Two sets of q u e s t i o n n a i r e one for l e c t u r e r s and one f o r s t u d e n t s were a n a l y s e d , axid f i v e n u l l h y p o t h e s e s f o r - mulated to answer the b a s i c q u e s t i o n s or the i n v e s t i g a t i on were t e s t e d . product moment c o r r e l a t i o n and s t u d e n t 's t - t e s t were used to test for the r e l a t i o n s h i p s between the r e s e a r c h v a r i a b l e s. The r e s u l t s o b t a i n e d were the f o l l o w i n g: 1. The correlation co-eificients caiculated in between the course va"iubies were net significant at 0.05 significance level. This implies that although relationships might exist between the two variables, the correlation co-efficients were generally low. However, from the responses or the respondents it appeared th'it relationships, even though weak existed between continuous assessment and examination . r e s u l t , for students of the Christian Religious Studies Section, 2. Only two courses of a l l the courses selected for the study showed reasonably high correlation co-efficients. 3. From the r e s u l t s of the test of the relationships, continuous assessment performance scores used in this study could not be regarded as good predictors of examination performance scores in most of the courses, since most of them were not significant at 0.05 significant level. vii 2. Only two courses of all the courses selected for the study showed reasonably high correlation coefficients. 3. From the results of the test of the relationships, continuous assessment performance scores used in this study could not be regarded as good predictors of examination performance scores in most of the courses since most of them were not significant at 0.05 significant level. With regard to difference in academic performance between males and females, the majority of the tests comparing male and female course performance scores in the two variables pointed out that there were not any difference in academic performance between males and females in the section.en_US
