dc.description.abstractMuch focus is being given to small-Scale Businesses in recent times, due to an increasing role played by them in providing employment and economic gains in widely clown turned economies globally. Of particular interest are the achievements of the Asian Tiger Countries (S/Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, etc) which are woven around small-scale businesses. It is widely believed that small-scale businesses' potentials and possibilities in contributing to economic development has not been fully tapped in Nigeria. Furthermore, it is also strongly believed that engineering based businesses in particular apart from contributing to economic development would also help launch the country into a science and technology based economy and hence into an industrialized country. Management and financial practices have been however, poor in these small business organizations. Hence, this project is an effort towards assessing analysing, and proffering recommendations on such practices.en_US
