Abstract
ABSTRACT
Music is a live organ that is growing in stupendous
dimensions particularly in Nigeria as it is all over the world.
The changing proportions of music is not unconnected with
everyday improvements in technology and electronics. This has
given an acme impetus to easy modernization. Therefore,
grandiose spree of artists and performers are spurred to sing
and perform in glaring terms that befits the ragged relics of
mediocrity.
Presently, in the whole of northern Nigeria, no music
recording centre can be found inspite of the numerous artists
that are around this region. To this end, the inconveniences
musical artists and performers experience in travelling for long
distances to places like Lagos before their productions are
recorded is perturbing. This pathetic plight had made potential
artists e.g traditional musicians unheard beyond their country
sides. It has become a matter of great concern to the artists
and the general public.
From the above synopsis, it is assumed that, the Federal
Government along with some private investors are gearing efforts
to establish a functional and productive recording complex in
Abuja.
This thesis is proposed to offer in matters of decision
making and design for such a facility from its inception to
viii
execution. Critically, the domain of this research is in the
techniques and components of recording studio construction.
