Abstract
This work is on the impact of social studies programmes on students attitudes on religious affiliations demands in relationship to citizenship education in Niger state. The write – up tries to answer some of the problem created by a multi- religious and tribal society. The study was guided by three (3) research questions and three (3) corresponding null hypotheses. The data for the study was collected using questionnaire administered to 340 student s involved in the study. Frequencies, means and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions, while Pearson product moment correlation coefficient (PPMCC) was used to test null hypotheses. At confident level of 0.05 the result revealed among others that religious affiliations of students has a great influence on the attitude of J.S.S students towards citizenship education in Niger State, such as the inculcation of desirable attitudes and values for national development. Based on the findings of the study recommendation were forwarded such as all religious leaders should preach stability and good moral that demonstrates good citizenship and cohesion among the people.
