dc.description.abstractThisresearch titled “Perceptions of Stakeholders on the Role Performance of Principals of Public Secondary Schools in Zamfara State, Nigeria” is aimed at establishing variationsin the perceptions of stakeholders (principals, teachers and staff of the Ministry of Education) on the basis of selected demographic variables of the respondents. To achieve the objectives of the study, descriptive survey research method was used and all thesix (6) hypotheses were subjected to analysis of variance statistical analysis. The result of the test led to the acceptance of the hypotheses. The total sampled population of the study was 30 principals, 70 teachers and 15 staff of the Ministry of Education. Stratified Random Sampling and simple descriptive survey techniques were adopted for the study. The instrument used for the collection of data was questionnaire; content validity method was employed for the verification of the questionnaire. The data for the study was collected through visit to the sampled schools and inspectorate Divisions within the Zamfara State and was subjected to descriptive and inferential statistics of the ANOVA at 0.05 level of significance; simple percentages, item means and standard deviation, and the results were presented in a tabular form. Some of the findings include that the principals have effective communications skills in handling their schools as they use simple language in communicating with their teaching staff, principals use to involve teachers, parents and ministry of education officials in decision-making process of their schools, instructional supervision is maintained by the school principals. The researcher however, made some recommendationssuch as communication is the life wire of every organization and the principals should ensure that adequate and effective lines of communication are maintained at all times, rational decisions should also be taken in collaboration with the school community members and the host community people, discipline should also be maintained by both the students and teachers so as to keep to pace of good ad conducive teaching-learning atmosphere and suggestions were also proffered for further study.en_US
