| dc.description.abstract | This study investigated the perception of civil servants about the role of recreation and tourism in Nigeria. A total of 596 subjects were randomly chosen from TEN States of Nigeria, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument to collect data for this study. Five hypotheses were developed for the purpose of this study. The statistical techniques involving t-test, the pearson's product moment correlation (r) and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) were applied to the data, to test the hypotheses of the study. The major findings of the study are as follows: i) There was no significant difference between male and female civil servants in their perception about the role of recreation and tourism in Nigeria, ii) There was significant correlation between facilities and equipment available and civil servants' perception about the role of recreation and tourism in Nigeria, iii) There was significant correlation between financial status of civil servants and their perception about the role of recreation and tourism in Nigeria. iv) There was,no significant influence of marital status of civil servants and their perception about the role of recreation and tourism in Nigeria. v) There was no significant influence of religious affiliations of civil servants on their perception about the role of recreation and tourism in Nigeria | en_US |
