Abstract
ABSTRACT This study investigated the information needs of the nomadic fulanis in Kano State. Since information reduces uncertainty, it's position with regard to the growth and development of any society can not be overemphasized. Since the information needs of our various societies and even individuals differ, there is need to investigate the information needs of each society so as to determine what it actually need in terms of information for it's growth and development. Interview was the main instrument used for data collection. Interview guide was used to conduct the interview. Findings revealed that the nomadic fulanis in Kano State farm as second occupation apart from their life occupation - cattle rearing. It also revealed that majority of the nomadic fulanis in the state are illiterates in the western sense. The findings also revealed that, the kind of information needed most include: Agricultural information, prevention and control of cattle diseases, market for milk and milk products, health and educational opportunities.
