Abstract
This research work is on the Management of Small Business as a Step Towards Graduate Self Employment. The aim of the study is to discover whether Graduates hope to be self employed or not, and the effect of the course they studied in relation to their becoming good managers of a successful business enterprise. To provide a solution to unemployment problem in the country, Government had set up a machinery to encourage self employment through the proliferation of small Business Enterprises, by the establishment of National Directorate of Employment and other agencies. Having looked at the above problem, the study revealed the following: That our educational system emphasises paid employment rather than self employment. Some of the courses studied in our tertiary institutions do not have relevance to possible future graduate self employment. Also revealed is the interest of most graduates in self employment,
