This work was aimed primarily at stabilising A-7 l a t e r i t e using bituminous emulsion (MS?) as the main stabilizer Also, MC1 and cement stabilizers were as well used for comparative purposes. The prooperties of the stabilized s o i l s were determined by means of compaction, CBR, unconfined c o m p r e s s i o n and water absorption tests© From the analysis of the results, only cement was able to stabilize the soil to meet the specifications for base course. It is conclusive that 3 to % of mulsion (MS2) and MCI ara economically suitable for the stabilization of the oil to achieve the specifications for sub-base materials only while a maximum cement content of 3% is desirable for base courseen_US
