dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to assess the implementation of Nigeria Certificate in Education (Metalwork Technology) Curriculum in Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in Kaduna State. In the research, five objectives were generated, which were to determine the role of the metal work technology teacher in the implementation of NCE metal work technology curriculum in polytechnics and colleges of education, the role played by the institutions’ administrators in the implementation of NCE metal work technology curriculum in polytechnics and colleges of education, to determine the relationship between the role of the NBTE at the polytechnics and that of the NCCE at the colleges of education, the relationship between the use of relevant Teaching methods and the implementation of NCE metalwork technology curriculum in ;polytechnics and colleges of education and also to determine the relationship between the availability, proper utilization of instructional materials in implementing the NCE metalwork technology curriculum in ;polytechnics and colleges of education in Kaduna state. Five (5) research questions and five (5) null hypotheses were formulated in line with the stated objectives to serve as guide for the study. A descriptive survey research design involving the use of questionnaire and checklist was employed for the purpose of this study. The data obtained were analyzed by the use of frequency and percentage. A population of 1492 out of which 150 students including lecturers, NBTE and NCCE officials were proportionally selected and put into Kaduna polytechnic, Kaduna, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, College of education Kafanchan, National Board for Technical Education and National Commission for Colleges of Education. The result obtained in this study revealed that there exists significant relationship in the five (5) null hypotheses formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. They were all rejected; the rejection was attributed to the responses made by both lecturers, students and NBTE and NCCE officials as well as the checklist used. The finding revealed that proper implementation of metalwork technology, constant electricity power supply, monitoring and supervision of the entire programme, provision availability of instructional facilities have a significant role on the effective dissemination of NCE metalwork technology in order to satisfy the world of work. The study finally recommended ways of ensuring implementation strategies as well as acquisition of instructional aids from the ICT centres in the departmentsen_US
