Abstract
All thanks be to Allah, the Most Gracious the Most High, who endowed his
Message with outstanding qualities. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon
this Messenger, who was send as a blessing to mankind and to his family and
companions.
This research study aims to bring out the fundamental features and
significant objectives of Hausa Drama in Arabic language, in order to explain
the eloquence and wisdom of the Hausa drama to Arabic speakers and
students learning Arabic language in colleges and universities in Nigeria and
other countries. And that cannot be possible except through a research
works, such as the present one and the like.
In trying to achieve the above mentioned objectives and goals, the
research work has been divided into five chapters as follow:
Chapter one: contains a brief history of Hausa people, brief history of
Hausa drama globally, and the influence of Hausa drama in Hausa land.
Chapter Two: contains explanation on how to plan and practice drama.
Chapter Three: contains six Hausa plays, which have been considered as
Hausa traditional drama.
Chapter Four: contains some traditional and modern Hausa drama. The
chapter was further divided into three sub-sections as follows:
o A) Section One: talks on various types of (Tashe), representing
an old type of Hausa drama.
o B) Section Two: contains study and analysis of seven Hausa
Dramas in Arabic language.
o C) Section Three: contains the translation of some Hausa dramas
into Arabic.
Chapter Five: contains main features of Hausa drama from electronic
media (radio and television as well as the summary of the research. This
chapter was divided into two sections as follows:
o A) Section One: contains an explanation of main features of
Hausa drama from Radio and Television.
o B) Section Two: contains summary of the research and its’
conclusion
