dc.description.abstractThis study investigated the “Effect of Overhead Instructional Projection on Fine Art Students‟ Performance in Junior Secondary School in Kaita Local Government Area, Katsina State”. To achieve the purpose of this study, three objectives were formulated as well as research questions and hypotheses. Quasi-experimental research design was adopted in the study involving a pre-test and post-test. The population of the study comprises of all the JSS students in Five government secondary schools with the total number of 907 from which 40 students was assigned to experimental and 40 students for control groups. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 40 students from 4 schools. Fine Arts Performance Test (FAPT) was used as an instrument for data collection. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while t-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05significance level. The result of the study revealed that utilization of overhead projector has significant effect on the students‟ academic performance in junior secondary school in Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State Gender had no significant influence of students‟ performance when fine art was taught with the overhead projector. It was concluded that utilization of overhead projector which teachers employ in the teaching of fine art has significant effect on students‟ academic performance in junior secondary school. Based on the findings, it is recommended that teachers should be well trained in appropriate and effective utilization of overhead projector in teaching and learning Fine art in Junior Secondary Schools in order to improve students‟ academic performance in Fine art not only in Katsina State but to other junior secondary schools in Nigeria among other recommendations.en_US
