Working capital may be regarded as the life blood of a business, its effective provision can do much to ensure the success of a business, while its inefficient management can lead not only to loss of profits but also to the ultimate down fall of what otherwise might be considered as a promising concern. Working capital management is the functional area of finance that covers all the current accounts of the firm. is concerned with the adequacy of current assets as well as the level of risk posed by current liabilities It is a discipline that seeks proper policies for managing cur r e n t a s s e t s a n d liabilities and prac tical techniques for maximising the benefits from managing wo r k i n g capital A deeper understanding of the importance of working capital and its satisfactory provision can lead not only to material savings in the economic use of resources but can also assist in furthering the ultimate aim of a business : namely, that of maximising financial returns on the minimum amount of capital which need to be employed. With this in mind, this study is directed towards the management of working capital at seven-up bottling company Plc.
