dc.description.abstract | It is said "Health is wealth and a healthy nation is a wealthy nation". Effective and efficient health care delivery system is of paramount importance in any part of the world, thus the huge investment on Health Care Delivery Programmes, struggles for food, shelter and above all, Health. Health care is as old as Man himself and ever then, so much had and is still being done to improve on the Health Care Delivery System the world over. Significantly enough, society's needs are influenced by many a factor, knowledge (in terms of technology) inclusive and population growth rate are said to be over-riding. Many hospitals today are not well equiped to cope with the teaming populace intended for and have failed in the adaptability of modern trends or requirements in hospitals. This is use most of these hospitals were built during the colonial era when there were no proper studies, research carried out and the lack of foresight into the forecast of the future. Plateau Hospital Jos was built around 1923 by the white tin miners and was known as British European Hospital, It is was exclusively for the whites and the black labourers attended theirs at Barakin Ladi. Today it is the only Government Hospital in Jos the State Capital and environs. It only caters for the State civil servants on Grade Levels 0'7 and above. It charges a token fee for the services rendered and for private patients pay twice as much.
