Abstract
This investigation is on evaluation of the
behavioural manifestations of Christian Religious
Studies students' of Federal College of Education,
Zaria.
To accomplish this aim, three hypotheses stated
in null form were advanced for the study. The
hypotheses were based on the CRS students' behavioural
manifestations with regards to-class-attendance,
sexual and moral behaviour of CRS lecturers, relevance
of the NCE CRS curriculum to character development.
The subjects of the study were second and final
year CRS students and their lecturers. Two sets of
questionnaires were used to collect data for the
study. One was designed for CRS students and lecturers
on the relevance of course contents to character
developments. While the other questionnaire was meant
for CRS and non CRS students and lecturers on only the
behavioural manifestations of CRS students.
The data was statistically analysed by t-test
analysis. Cross-tabulation was used to determine the
difference in significance between the variables.
The results of the study revealed that two of
the hypotheses were accepted while one of them was
rejected. The accepted hypotheses revealed that
no significant difference exist between the opinions
of CHS and n on-CRS students on the behavioural
manifestations of CRS students with regards to classattendance.
While the other accepted hypotheses also
revealed that no significant difference exist between
the opinions of the CRS lecturers and students, on
the relevance of the NCE CRS curriculum to character
development.
The rejected hypothesis revealed that significant
difference exist between the opinions of CRS students
and lecturers with regards to sexual behaviour of CRS
1ecturers.
This shows that, neither the behaviour of CRS
lecturers nor the relevance of the course content are
responssible for some of the negative behaviour manifested
by CRS students.
From the result of the study recommendations were
made to parents and the school authority.
